Bierstadt Lake:   D/R/E: 1,6 mile - 776' elevation gain
Hiking Distance Is The Total Length Of The Hike

Bierstadt Lake is an easy destination within beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park. The trail starts in the forest by the trailhead but quickly turns into many switchbacks up the open slopes to Bierstadt Lake. The trail can be a bit hot on a summer afternoon, so it is best to go in the cool morning. Circle around to the northwest shore of this lake for outstanding photo opportunities of the monarch of Rocky Mountain National Park, Long's Peak, as well as Hallett Peak and Flattop Mountain. It is a great hike for families, with many chances to see park wildlife.
