Bear Lake To Bierstadt Lake:   D/R/E: 3.3 mile - 0' elevation gain
Hiking Distance Is The Total Length Of The Hike

The first half mile is a bit tough as you ascend but the views of Hallett and Flattop are spectacular. With the rest of the hike downhill, Bierstadt Lake is an easy destination within beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park. Circle around the shore of this lake for more outstanding photo opportunities of Long's Peak, Flattop Mountain and Hallett Peak. It's a good hike for families, with many chances to see wildlife, especially ground squirrels. The trail down can be a bit hot on a summer afternoon, when you descend the switchbacks through the moraine and forest, but the views are still breath-taking.
